A store that sells husbands has just opened in New York City , where a woman may go to choose a husband.  Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates.

              You may visit the store ONLY ONCE !

There are six floors and the attributes of the men increase as the shopper ascends the flights. There is, however, a catch . . .. you may choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up a floor, but

                you cannot go back down except to exit

the building!
So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband.

On the first floor the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 – These men have jobs and fear their Lord.

The second floor sign reads:

Floor 2 – These men have jobs, fear their Lord, and love kids.

The third floor sign reads:

Floor 3 – These men have jobs, fear their lord, love kids, and are extremely good looking.

“WOW,” she says, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads:

Floor 4 – These men have jobs, love their Lord, love kids, are not bad for the eyes  and help with the housework.

“Oh My Goodness, she exclaims, “I can hardly stand it!”
 Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads:

Floor 5 – These men have jobs, love their Lord, love kids, are good for the eyes, help with the  housework, and have a strong romantic streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 6 – You are visitor 4,363,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. Watch your step as you exit the building, and have a nice day!

“The Most Hated Persons to Allah are Three

February 27, 2009 ummaslam 1 comment

Narrated Ibn’Abbas:
The Prophet(may peace and blessing be upon him)
“The most hated persons to Allah are three:

1. A person who deviates from the right conduct, i.e., and evil doer, in the Haram

2. A person who wants that the traditions of the per-Islamic period of Ignorance should remain in Islam

3.A person who seeks to shed somebody’s blood with any right”.

Six Attacks by Shaytaan – Ten Defenses
Shaykh Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Naasir as-Sa`dee

Reference: Compiled by as Sa’dee from Ibnul Qayim’s book: Badaa-’i al fawaa-id. Tareeq al Wusool ila al ‘Ilm al Mawool: p.129
Category: General

The evil of Shaytaan is limited to six categories, he continues [to assault] mankind until he succeeds in one or more of them:
1) The evil of polytheism and disbelief;
2) Then innovations;
3) Next are the major sins;
4) Then the minor sins;
5) Subsequently, busying people with practicing Mubahaat [1] instead of practicing good deeds [that one is rewarded for];
6) Next is busying them with practicing deeds which are good instead of deeds which are better.

The reasons that safeguard a servant from the Shaytaan are ten:
1) Seeking refuge with Allaah from him;
2) Reading al Mu’awathatain [Surat an Nas and Surat al Falaq];
3) Reading Ayatul Kursi;
4) Reading Surat al Baqarah;
5) Reading the ending of Surat al Baqarah [last two verses];
6) The believer reading from the beginning of {Haa Meem.} until {to Him is the final return.} [Ghafir: 1-3];
7) Saying what translated means: ‘There is no deity worthy of worship but Allaah, alone having no partners, to him belongs the dominion, to him belongs all praise, and He has the ability to do all things.’ One hundred times;
8  Practicing the remembrance of Allaah a lot;
9) Performing ablution along with prayers;
10) Refraining from supernumerary (extra) looking around, talking, eating and mixing with people.

Patience and Gratitude

talkislam_2037_4561650597

 by Ibn Qayyim al Jawziyyah chapter 7

Patience in adversity and in situations beyond man’s control

Trials such as the death of a beloved one, sickness, loss of
wealth,etc.,
fall into two types: adversity beyond one’s control, and adverstiy
caused by
action of another human being, such as slander, beating, etc.

In facing situation that are beyound one’s control, peopel may have
any of
the following reactions:

1. Feeling helpless and discontented, panicking and complaining.

2. Responding with patience, either for the sake of Allaah or a a
sign of
human strenght.

3. Accepting the situation with thanks and gratitude. This is even
higher
than accpetance, because in this case a person sees the adversity as a
blessings and thanks Allaah for putting him through it.

4. Problems and adversity that befall a person at the hands of othere
may be
faced with any of the following reactions:

1. He may choose to forgive and forget.

2.He may decide not to take revenge.

3. He may accept the decree ( qada’wa qadr) whilst recognizing that
the
perosn who harmed him wa a wrongdoer, yet the One Who decreed that
this harm
should reach him at the hands of the wrongdoer is not a wrongdoer.
THe harm
caused by people is likeheat and cold: there is not way to prevent it
happening and the one who complains about heat and cold betrays a
lack of
wisdom. Everything that happens, happens through the decree (qadaa’ wa
qadr), even though there are many different ways and means for it to
happen

4. He may treat well the person who mistreated him. This attitude
has many
advantages and benefits, which nobody can know the entirety except
Allaah.
