Recognizing the Blessing from Allah (allowing rain to fall on your skin)

Anas ibn Malik reported: It rained upon us as we were with the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم). The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) removed his cloth (from a part of his body) till the rain fell on it [a part of his body]. We said: Messenger of Allah, why did you do this? He (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: Because it (the rainfall) has newly come from its Exalted Lord.

(Sahih Muslim, Chapter of Supplication in Prayer for Rain)

In his famous book “Mukhtasar Zad Al-Ma’ad”, Imam Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah commented: and he would remove his garment so that the rain wet him.
